This was shot in the Parnassos Mountain in Greece.
Mount Parnassus is a mountain of limestone in central Greece that towers above Delphi, north of the Gulf of Corinth, and offers scenic views of the surrounding olive groves and countryside. According to Greek mythology, this mountain was sacred to Apollo and the Corycian nymphs, and the home of the Muses. The mountain was also favored by the Dorians. The name Parnassos seems etymologically related to the Anatolian languages that made use of *-ssos in placenames (eg. Knossos). *Parna- derived from the same root as the word in Luwian meaning House. The location of the picture is near the Corycian cave, I used a CPL only for the shot during a nice sunny spring day a few months ago! Canon 5D | Lens: Canon 17-40L | Shutter: 1/160 | Aperture: f/8 | Filters: B+W CPL | Date: 09-05-2009 / 14:33pm | Location: Parnassos mountain | Tripod: Manfrotto 055X ProB + Manfrotto 804RC2 For prints: [link] Edit: I changed the sharpening of the file, loaded the wrong action (had sharpening for different output). Thanks for those who mentioned (thats why critique is always needed). |
